Introduction

In my previous role as a web administrator for an educational institute, My job was to create a user guide to help students navigate the Heritage House Montessori Centre (HHMC) Learning Management System (LMS).

Generally, I ensured a smooth user experience for all platform users.

Understanding LMS and HHMC

An LMS is a software or web-based application used for delivering and organizing educational courses

Heritage House Montessori Centre (HHMC) is an international training institute for Montessori education in Nigeria and West Africa.

HHMS offers various diploma courses through its LMS. These courses cover areas such as infant and toddler education (0–3) and early childhood education (3-6).

Accessing HHMC LMS

As a student, gaining access to HHMC LMS is straightforward.

Once you are enrolled in a course, you will receive an email confirmation containing your login details.

Visit the official Heritage House Montessori Center website and click on the "Log in here" button at the top of the page. Enter your email address along with the default password sent to your email.

Congratulations! You have successfully logged into HHMC LMS.

Changing your password

To enhance security, consider changing your password:

Password Change: Scroll to the bottom of the page and click the "Settings" section to change your password. If you ever forget your password, go to the login bar at the top of the page and click on "Forgotten or Lost Your Password?" A password reset link will be sent to your email, allowing you to set a new password.

Starting a course

With access to your account, you are now ready to begin your lessons:

  1. Access Courses: From your dashboard, click on the "My Account" tab and then navigate to the "Courses" section. Here, you can see the courses you've applied for and track your learning progress.

  2. Course Materials: Each course provides access to the curriculum, lesson notes, assignments, and quizzes. Click on your desired course to commence your studies.

Viewing your course curriculum

The curriculum section allows you to explore all topics covered in your course. To access it, click the "curriculum" button on your course interface.

Completing assignments

Students can efficiently complete assignments:

  1. Access Assignments: Click on the assignment module to view all assignments assigned by your tutor.

  2. Complete Assignments: Choose the assignments you wish to answer and attempt the questions. Download any attached documents, complete them, and then reattach the files. When finished, click the “Send” button to submit your work.

Completing quizzes

You can also take quizzes assigned by your tutor:

  1. Access Quizzes: Navigate to the quiz module, and then select the specific quiz you want to attempt.

  2. Complete Quizzes: Answer the quiz questions, and once you're done, click the “Send” button to submit your responses.
